Episode 035 - John Tibbs

I have a saying. Not really a saying, I guess, but more of a mantra. Or not even a mantra, just a belief. Not like an -ism kind of belief but...well now I've made it deeper than it probably needs to be. Basically, I like it when good things happen to good people. However you wanna classify that sentiment is fine with me.

Actually, yeah. I'll go with "sentiment."

I have a sentiment about good things happening to good people, and that sentiment is: I like when that happens. Such is the case with my latest guest, John Tibbs

I sat down at the offices of Fair Trade Services in Nashville with John a couple of months ago and to say he was excited about his future would be putting it lightly. He was excited about his new upcoming music and was really eager for people to hear it. I can't blame him. I was given a sneak peek listen to his new single, "Dead Man Walking" (available now!) and I knew he had accomplished exactly what he set out to do.

But what brought him to that point? Where did this guy come from? And did he really get to hold Punxsutawney Phil? Found out in this episode!

Episode 034 - David Dunn

David Dunn is the kind of musician who writes songs that punch you in the gut. Not in a bad way where you walk away with bruises, mumbling about an assault charge, but in the kind of way you want songs to hit you. His lyrics are honest and transparent and are written from the point of view of someone who doesn't have all of the answers all of the time, but knows there's no shame in admitting it.

I had the opportunity to sit down with David at The Frothy Monkey in downtown Nashville TN and it was a conversation I won't soon forget. David is the kind of guy who immediately makes you feel at home and it was if we'd known each other for years. Like every great songwriter, David is a natural storyteller and I can't wait for you to hear his tales of Texas oil, being the Odd Man Out in Africa, the audition process for NBC's "The Voice," and the creepy secrets inside The Pink Lady.
